By the beginning of Eyram’s final term, letters had become routine. These weren’t the official letters or the kind students sent home. Theirs were different: small folded notes exchanged between classes, each a question; an observation; a fragment of thought. Sometimes entire conversations stretched across three days and six pieces of paper.
